New art exhibits at the Bountiful Davis Arts Center provide a free cultural experience throughout March. You can go experience the outdoors on Antelope Island State park with their various events or in Farmington Bay at the Eccles Wildlife Center. You have more opportunities in arts with the LUNA FEST Film Festival and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang opening at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre. What: Three exhibits will be on display at the BDAC starting March 1st through the 29th.
- “EQUINOX” 5th ANNUAL PLEIN AIR COMPETITION: This will include some nontraditional plein air pieces.
- Parallels and Proxy: A diverse collection of contemporary portraiture in all its various forms, from local and national artists. This exhibit examines why an artist would choose to use a likeness and the responsibility of the artist as a documentarian.
- Pieces of Me by Tina Garrett: Missouri State Ambassador for the Portrait Society of America and ARC Associate Master Painter Tina Garrett travels across the country for her first ever solo exhibition at BDAC.
WEEK 2:
Ticket to Ride by Davis County Library (FREE)

When & Where: Friday, March 15th 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Centerville Branch, Kaysville Branch, & North (Clearfield) Branch
What: Choose a branch and join us for two fun evenings (dates vary by branch) exploring Utah’s unique transportation and natural wonders! There will be games, crafts, stories, and activities celebrating pioneers, dinosaurs, Hill Air Force Base, Salt Flats racing, national parks, trains, mining, and more! This annual program is for all ages and families are encouraged to attend.
CenterPoint Legacy Theatre: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

St. Paddy’s Day March, Run, Walk at Ellison Park

Where: Ellison Park, Latyon, Utah
What: Keep up on your New Year’s resolutions and bring out your green! 5k, 10k and kids’ course. Green Pancakes for the ENTIRE Family, a leprechaun and ALL GREEN costume contest, music, a photo booth and other fun activities at the race. Sign up online or on race day.

Buffalo Run 50K, 50 mile, 100 mile

When: March 22-23
Where: Antelope Island State Park
What: Three ultra trail runs will start and finish at the White Rock Bay Event Field. The event utilizes most park trails. Aid stations will be located in various ares along the route.

Park Impacts: No roads or trails will be closed during this event. Expect additional traffic at the Entrance Booth, along park roads, within White Rock Bay and along most park trails.
Fielding Garr Ranch Tours: “Life & Death at Fielding Garr Ranch”

When: March 23rd at 11:00am, 1:00pm & 4:00pm
Where: Antelope Island State Park
What: Antelope Island was used for 133 years as ranch land. There are countless stories: happy, sad, and just plain weird. Walk the grounds with the Fielding Garr Ranch Manager to hear some of the every day things and unusual events where they happened.

Couples Night at Dartside
When: March 28th at 7:00 pm
Where: Layton Hills Mall (Second floor above Dick’s Sporting Goods)
What: This event will consist of a 30-minute relationship presentation followed by 30 minutes of dart tag arena play.

Davis Arts Council Chamber Music Series: The Beautiful Dreamer Trio (FREE)

What: This is a FREE concert, part of the Chamber Music Series. The Beautiful Dreamer Trio plays delightful music of yesteryear. Swan Day at Farmington Bay (FREE)

What: Join us in celebrating and watching swans on March 9 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.! March is when tundra swans migrate through Utah, making it the perfect chance to see them and learn more about them.
Attend a nature program or informative presentation and bring the whole family to do a swan-themed craft.
Our experts (along with volunteers from Wasatch Audubon Society) will be there to answer questions. Bring binoculars and spotting scopes if you have them. We’ll have some spotting scopes available for you to use. This event is free and family friendly.

Antelope Island State Park – Fielding Garr Ranch Tours: “Home on the Range”
When: Saturday, March 9th at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 4:00pm
Where: Antelope Island State Park
What: Workers on the ranching operations of Antelope Island didn’t just make their living from the land. They made their homes from the land, ate from the land, and lived because of the land. Explore the unique human history of Antelope Island with the Fielding Garr Ranch.

Buffalo Run 25K
When: Saturday, March 9th at 9:00am
Where: Antelope Island State Park at White Rock Bay
What: The 25K Buffalo Run is a registration only trail running race. The race starts and ends in the White Rock Bay Event field at 9:00 am.
