Lagoon to Sponsor Half Marathon
FARMINGTON – Lagoon amusement park and On Hill Events, a local organization that helps put together marathons in Davis County, are teaming up to host a half-marathon happening Saturday, April 4.
The inaugural Lagoon Half Marathon/10K/5K will take place starting at the amusement park and ending in different locations, depending on the race.
The Half-Marathon will start in Lagoon’s parking lot with runner’s traveling 11.1 miles on the Legacy and Rio Grande Trail System. The 10K and 5K will do an out-and-back course on the Lagoon Trail behind the amusement park.
The remaining miles will be ran inside the amusement park, according to a press release sent to the Clipper by Lagoon. As part of the events, On Hill Events will be hosting an exposition at the Gym in Station Park, located in Farmington. The expo will be tied into the packt pickup portion of the marathon and will be a chance for runners or visitors to meed with sports related exhibitos as well as pick up their race bags.
The expo is free to attend.
Registration fees for the half-marathon are $85 for the race only (excludes day pass) or $105 for the race plus a day pass to Lagoon. If runners wish to purchase a season pass the price is $165.99 up to Friday, April 3. For the 10K or 5K races, prices are $65 (no pass), $110 (with day pass) or $149.99 (with season pass purchase).
