Fun at the FAIRibbean
Who’s ready to have fun at the FAIRibbean? If you haven’t heard, the Davis County Fair starts tomorrow (8/17/16)! The theme this year is “Pirates of the Fairibbean.” Read below as we review some of the fun activities to expect.
As shown in the picture above, Pirates of the Sky will be performing each day of the fair at 2pm, 5pm and 7pm. The Pirates perform acrobatic stunts to thrill audiences young and old.
After you see the Pirates fly, be sure to check out the demolition derby. This is an event that sells out almost every year, and if you haven’t been to a demolition derby it is a smashing good time! Tickets can be purchased for $15 in advance on the fair website or $20 the night of the event on Wednesday, August 17th.
Another fun event that many look forward to every year is the elephant encounter. The elephants will be performing a show every day at 12:30pm, 3:30pm and 7:30pm. This show is both entertaining and educational. Plus, the elephants will be giving rides in-between shows throughout the day.
Of course with any fair you’ll find the deliciously sinful fair food, carnival rides, animals, entertainers, 4-H and FFA livestock contests. A full daily schedule of all events and more can be found online. Admission to the fair is free, but you will have to pay for parking ($7-$10).
Each year the Davis County Fair tries to give back to the community through different donations. If you bring two cans of food you will get $2 off of parking, and be supporting a great cause. All food donations will be going to the Family Connection Center.
On Friday and Saturday night, be sure to grab the kiddos and check out the RMPRA Rodeo for some good ol’ fashion bull-riding and buckin’ broncos. Tickets for this event are $12 (presale) or $15 (night of).
We hope everyone can make it out the Davis County Fair this year! If you happen to have fun at the fair, be sure to tag and share your pictures #playindavis and #daviscountyfair.
